Five Year WinnerTiger Woods is not the only one in the golf industry to post an impressive winning streak recently. For the fifth consecutive year, the Storefront Owner Venture Programs Preferred Club Program received the Award of Excellence for “Best Insurance Provider to the Club Industry” from The Boardroom, the official magazine of the Association of Private Club Directors (APCD).
The 2005 award, originally scheduled to be announced in July 2006, was postponed until this year to coincide with the Golf Industry Show, held Feb. 22-24, with coverage provided by the Golf Channel. The 2006 winner also was announced at that time.
Awards are presented to companies that provide noteworthy services to the club industry. The winners are selected by an independent panel of industry experts representing diverse facets of course and club operations, all recognized for their overall excellence, achievements, innovation, vision for future growth and impact on club operations.
"Receiving this award for five consecutive years illustrates the long-term commitment of the Preferred Club Program to the golf and club industry, the continued quality of our coverage and the ability of our risk management services to improve safety and lower claims," said Philip J. Harvey, managing director of the Preferred Club Program. "In the past two years, we distinguished ourselves with our response to the Florida wind crisis, offering coastal clubs and courses new coverage options."
The Preferred Club Program insures more than 1,150 private, semi-private and daily-fee clubs, and is the leading writer of golf management companies. It is part of Venture Insurance Programs, a leading program administrator that designs, underwrites and administers “best-in-class” insurance packages to select industries.
