Bad Faith

Describes the fraudulent deception of another person, or the intentional or malicious refusal to perform some duty or contractual obligation. Specific to insurance, it can describe conduct by an insurer that exceeds mere negligence, such as intentionally delaying, underpaying, or denying a claim.
