Mike Vanderwerker, President

Michael R. Vanderwerker is President of Morris H. Bannister & Son Inc., which has been in operation since 1919. He has been part of sales and management at MHB for more than 25 years and he has deep roots in the both the community and the Hudson Valley. (His Dutch ancestors settled here in 1647.)

He serves on the Board of Directors of The Independent Agents Association of Westchester, and has been active on several committees, representing the interests of both consumers and the insurance industry with Albany lawmakers.

Michael served in the U.S. Navy and attended Boise State University (where he played Division I soccer), and then majored in history at Iona College.

He resides in Yorktown Heights, NY, with his wife Lisa, and their three daughters, Melissa, Christina, and Nicole. An accomplished cyclist, Michael has won several NY state championships and finished in the Top 10 at the 1992 Olympic trials. He was a New York State Bronze medalist in 2009.

Lisa Vanderwerker, Vice President

Lisa has nearly a quarter of a century of experience in the insurance industry. For 7 years, she worked at Aetna Insurance, where her titles included Life Insurance Underwriter, Life Insurance Specialist, PL Office Manager and Annuity CSR and Annuity Office Manager. She has her Life and Series 6 licenses.

In 1996, she joined her husband, Michael, at MHB Insurance as Vice President. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Lisa is also a Feng Shui consultant and recently launched her own custom line of ice skating apparel, called Lisa V Designs.

Lori Boden

Lori has been a New York State Licensed Property & Casualty broker since 1998 and has worked in the retail brokerage industry for over 17 years. Prior to joining MHB Insurance, she was an Account Executive at York International.

She holds an Associate’s Degree in Marketing, attended Iona College and is currently involved with the Westchester CPCU Chapter and IIABNY.

Lori resides in Yorktown Heights, NY with her two daughters and enjoys tennis and travel.
